Getting to The View House
Thirty-five minutes from the airport on a good run — and you never touch central Athens. You land, turn south along the coast, and the city falls away behind you.
The quiet luxury of this end of the Athenian Riviera is how easy the arrival is: a short drive south from the airport, no city traffic, and the sea on your right most of the way.
The villa sits above Anavyssos, on the southern stretch of coast between Athens and the Temple of Poseidon. From Athens International Airport it’s about 35 minutes by car — south and west along the coastal road, never into the centre. The drive itself is part of the welcome: olive hills on one side, the Saronic Gulf opening up on the other.
Drive times from the house

How to arrive
Three easy ways from the airport: a pre-arranged private transfer (the most relaxed after a long flight — we’re glad to help organise one), a taxi, or a rental car collected at the airport. For a stay built around the beaches, the cape and the island ferries, having a car for the week is worth it — though a private driver for arrivals and the occasional outing is a comfortable alternative.
Land, turn south, and the city is behind you — the coast does the rest.
Athens, when you want it
Central Athens and the Acropolis are about 50–55 minutes away — close enough for a day among the ruins and the markets, far enough that you come home to the sea rather than the city. It’s the best of both: the capital as a day trip, the coast as your address.
Good to know
How do you get from Athens Airport to The View House?
It is about 35 minutes by car, and you never pass through central Athens — you head south down the coast. The easiest options are a pre-arranged private transfer (we can help organise one), a taxi, or a rental car picked up at the airport.
Do you need a car?
For the most part, yes. The beaches, Cape Sounion, Lavrio’s ferries and the area’s tavernas are all short drives, and a car makes the villa the easy basecamp between them. Many guests rent at the airport; for arrivals and the odd outing, a private driver also works well.
How far is it from central Athens and the Acropolis?
About 50–55 minutes. Athens makes an easy day trip from the coast — the city is close enough to visit and far enough that you sleep by the sea, not in the traffic.
Can you reach the area by public transport?
There are coastal KTEL buses running south toward Sounion, so it is possible without a car, but services are infrequent and not built for beach-hopping or late dinners. For a relaxed stay, a car or arranged transfers are far easier.
